Mary Gray Scholarships

The Mary Gray Scholarships to St John’s College, Cambridge, were instituted by Robert Gray QC, the great grand nephew of Bishop Robert Gray, who named the scholarship in honour of his mother. It was intended that the election of scholars should follow a similar pattern to the Rhodes Scholarship process. The scholarship is confirmed by St John’s College, who also indicate to the school when the necessary funds are available for the election of a further Mary Gray Scholar.
